CASP: Beginning to Advanced Metal Fabrication and Welding

Students will utilize US Patent books from the 1960s as source material for sculptural objects.
Instructor: Jonathan Whitfill
Whitfill received an MFA in Sculpture from Texas Tech University and a Bachelor of Science focusing in Biology and Chemistry from Wayland Baptist University. Whitfill exhibits his work mainly in his native Texas habitat, but he has also exhibited in seventeen other states as well as France and China. He is a founder of many artist run collaborative groups including, the RJP Nomadic Gallery, Earthbound Moon, Culture Laboratory Collective, The Button Project, and the Free Range Creatives. He currently teaches AP Physics, Astronomy, and Coaches Chess at Estacado High School in Lubbock Texas.
CASP will supply students with the materials to execute assigned projects. Additional materials can be purchased through CASP. Students are responsible for providing their own (MIG) welding gloves.
